Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is releasing a 240-page book about the Grand Rapids attraction titled "America's Garden of Art."

The hardcover coffee table book details the history of Meijer Gardens and shows it throughout the seasons.

Meijer Gardens said this is the first time "a book of this magnitude" has been compiled to tell its story.

The coffe table book features more than 230 photos, as well as essays by president and CEO David Hooker, chief curator Joseph Becherer and historian Larry ten Harmsel.

“A highly visual experience, it is one of the best representations of Meijer Gardens, illustrating the story of this national treasure," Hooker said. "After several years of intense effort, it is my pleasure to launch this much-requested volume — celebrating the collections, gardens, grounds and history of Meijer Gardens.”

The book is being sold for $49.95, or $45.95 for members, at Meijer Gardens’ gift shop.

Shipping is available by calling the gift shop at 616-957-7904.
