A South Carolina-based composites manufacturer is investing $1.63 million to upgrade its facility in the region and create 50 jobs.

Industrial Services Group plans to develop operations at its newest West Michigan facility in Vergennes Township, investing in equipment upgrades and building renovations, at 683 Lincoln Lake Ave. SE, according to The Right Place, a regional economic development nonprofit.

The new jobs will range from management and technical positions to skilled and entry-level positions.

“This expansion enables us to further invest in West Michigan and support our growing business,” said Al Hubbard, ISG director of operations. “We want to thank The Right Place for their assistance throughout this process. They were able to bring together the resources and support we needed to make this project a reality.”

Industrial Services Group employs seven people at another facility in Walker.

Incentives

Vergennes Township is exploring the idea of supporting ISG in the form of a property tax abatement.

The Right Place said ISG was also awarded a state grant for the project. The amount of the grant was not disclosed.

“ISG has multiple facilities located throughout the country, primarily in the South,” said Megan Sall, business development manager at The Right Place. “Winning this expansion re-affirms that West Michigan and Michigan continue to have a competitive manufacturing environment.”
