'American Picker' stops at Grand Rapids Antiques Market
If you don’t know how to spend that Christmas money grandma gave you over the holidays, bring it to the Grand Rapids Antiques Market.
Largest in state
The eighth edition of the Grand Rapids Antiques Market is coming to DeVos Place on Jan. 4-5.
There will be nearly 150 antique and vintage dealers on site selling furniture, jewelry, pottery, art, ephemera and more.
The Grand Rapids Antiques Market, first held in 2007, is Michigan’s largest indoor antiques show.
It will be held in conjunction with the Grand Rapids Old House Expo, also being held at DeVos Place.
Special guest Danielle Colby-Cushman, from the History channel’s “American Pickers,” will be in attendance and displaying vintage items from her store, 4 Miles 2 Memphis.
Colby-Cushman will also host an “American Pickers” Q&A on Jan. 5 at 1 p.m.
Colby-Cushman, who is known in part for her unique look, is a great representation of the feeling of the event, according to the Grand Rapids Antiques Market website.
“It’s not the traditional show,” said Melissa Sands of Vintage Promotions, producer of the event. “There’s a lot of energy, and it’s anything but stuffy. It’s a fun show that’s all about the spirit found on ‘American Pickers.’”
The Grand Rapids Antiques Market and Grand Rapids Old House Expo will both be open Jan. 4, from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., and Jan. 5, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
