Downtown rocks at HOT New Year's Eve Party
There are plenty of ways to ring in the New Year, but one of the best remains the Fox Kia HOT New Year’s Eve Party and ball drop downtown.
The free event at Rosa Parks Circle will feature performances by singer, songwriter and rapper IYAZ, platinum-selling musician Ryan Cabrera, musician and model Nick Hissom, Journey Tribute Band and the country music duo Love and Theft.
The music won’t stop between sets either, thanks to the spinning of DJs Curtis Avison and Justin Kung, who will perform between acts.
Revelers can party from 6:30 p.m. until midnight, when the ball drops from a giant construction crane.
There will also be opportunities to see and be seen.
Use the hashtag #HOTNYE on Twitter and Instagram to interact and be on the big screen — and tweet to be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a $2,000 fat tire bicycle from Grand Rapids Bicycle Company.
Meteorologists are predicting a cold night for the event, but a warming tent will be available to make sure everyone stays cozy while celebrating.
