Grand Rapids is home to one of the busiest theaters in the world.

Pollstar, ranking theaters based on tickets sold last year, places DeVos Performance Hall as the 54th top theater venue in the U.S. — and 76th worldwide.

Acts at the venue ranged from comedians such as Daniel Tosh and Brian Regan to concerts such as Brit Floyd and Tommy Emmanuel and many other plays, musicals and operas.

The hall is home to the Grand Rapids Symphony, Opera Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Ballet and Broadway Grand Rapids.

“We’ve worked very hard to continue bringing the best live entertainment to Grand Rapids, and it is wonderful to know that our efforts aren’t going unrecognized,” said Richard MacKeigan, regional general manager at SMG, the hall’s facility manager. “We’re in a growing, world-class city with high expectations, so we are pleased to continue being ranked among the world’s greatest venues.

“It is a great display of our dedication, an excellent reflection of the city’s must-play standing for the best live tours and a resounding example of the support we are constantly being shown from our community.”
