A trio of John Deere dealers is merging to form a new regional company.

Holland-based Fillmore Equipment, Gilsinger Implement in Indiana and Howard and Sons have merged to become GreenMark Equipment.

As GreenMark Equipment, the John Deere dealership group will have 16 locations in southwest Michigan and northern Indiana.

“All three companies have been successful, but fast-paced changes in the agriculture and turf industries mean we have to use resources wisely to remain stable and keep growing,” said Ken Timmerman, an owner of Fillmore Equipment. “By coming together as one company, we’ll continue to be at the forefront of the industry.”

The merger means that the company’s employees will combine to create a team of 400.

“It’s a great opportunity for us,” said Mark Howard, an owner of Howard and Sons. “GreenMark Equipment will remain a family owned company with a local focus, benefitting from the resources of a larger dealership. It’s a win-win for the community and our staff.”

GreenMark will benefit from improved efficiencies, broader availability of talent, streamlined facility and operating costs and increased employee investment.

It said that customers will see economic benefits and increased convenience: greater parts availability, service and support, training and support in advanced technology, greater selection of equipment and access to the dealer network.
