People across the country are going to have an easier time finding a local brewery’s beer.

Founders Brewing Co. in Grand Rapids said today that it has released a mobile app in the Apple App Store and at Google Play.

“We’ve been wanting to create this app for some time now,” said Sarah Aldrich, a Founders Brewing Co. spokesperson. “One of the most common questions we get is, ‘Where can I find X beer in X city?’ The Founders app gives our enthusiasts the power to answer this question themselves, wherever they are, using the one thing that they’re most likely to have on them at a given time: their phones.”

The app will also feature a beer menu, with photos and availability information, and the brewery is planning more features.

Founders paired with Fusionary, a digital studio located across from the brewery on Grandville Avenue, to create the app.

“Founders has such an active fan base, and we see the app getting tons of use,” said Fusionary Partner Steve Lewis. “It’s exciting to work on an app for something we love, and we’re really looking forward to its future.”

Founders recently said it's planning a five-day KBS Week in Grand Rapids from March 18-22, to celebrate the release of the limited beer, which was named the No. 1 beer in America by RateBeer.com.
