Change Ups: Credit union issues promotions, new hire

Meijer Credit Union announced the promotion of David Eyke to vice president of commercial and consumer lending; he has worked for Meijer CU since April 2013. Lisa Posthumus was promoted to vice president of member services and retail operations; she joined the credit union in September 2013 to manage the Rockford branch after a 16-year career in the industry. Shelley Belanger was hired as the new Rockford branch manager; her 11-year career in the industry includes client service representative, assistant team lead and acting manager. 

ACCOUNTING

Helmholdt+Co. LLP announced the promotions of Brad A. Brummel, CPA, and Andrew R. Hesselink, CPA, to supervisor, and the additions of Melanie R. Seaman, CPA, and Trevor W. Mannard to staff accountant.

ASSOCIATIONS

Kent County Medical Society announced the election of its board of directors: president, Donald P. Condit; president-elect, David E. Hammond; treasurer, Jayne E. Courts; immediate past president, Phillip G. Wise; directors, Herman Sullivan and Eric Larson.

Pokagon Band Citizens has elected John P. Warren tribal council chairman in a special election. Warren served as a member-at-large from 2006-2011 and as treasurer since 2011.

Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce announced Grand Rapids Community Foundation is the recipient of its Diversity Visionary Award for being committed to creating a community and a foundation that is diverse, inclusive and racism-free.

Discover Kalamazoo sales manager Nate Melvin is the recipient of the Michigan Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals’ 2013 Supplier of the Year and the 2013 President’s awards.

Lenore Reynolds, Grand Rapids Police Department senior volunteer since 1994, is the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award for the State of Michigan – Citizen Corps.

Mary Beth Zakfeld, West Catholic High School robotics director, is the recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Laina Mills has been promoted to vice president and senior investment manager of Legacy Trust. Mills is responsible for providing leadership in the development and execution of the company’s investment philosophy and strategies, and management of key individual and family office client relationships.

Thomas DeWitt, assistant vice president of Macatawa Bank Wealth Management, has earned the Qualified Plan Financial Consultant credential from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.

Smith Haughey attorney Bill Franks has been elected to the board of directors for Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women.

Dan Vos Construction Co. announced the additions of Jon Serba, construction laborer, and Elizabeth Nol, office administrator.

Kal-Blue Inc. has added Brad Hodor to its training and support staff for Autodesk Civil Engineering and Infrastructure software.

EDUCATION

Cindy VanGelderen, associate professor of accounting and chair of the accounting department at Aquinas College, was awarded the Michigan Campus Compact Faculty Community Service-Learning Award.

HEALTH

Bronson Health announced James E. McKernan will become chief operating officer for Bronson Battle Creek and senior vice president with Bronson Healthcare, effective March 10. He currently is vice president of Bronson HealthCare Midwest.

David Hautamaki has joined MapleCreek senior living community as an administrator at The Lodge, its skilled nursing community, and The Woods memory care program.

Metro Health announced it has opened Metro Health & Vascular at 904 S. Washington, Suite 130, Holland. It offers cardiovascular appointments, as well as diagnostic testing for cardiovascular disease, including peripheral arterial disease.

Stephanie Erickson has joined Hospice of Michigan as a sales representative for Grand Rapids and the lakeshore.

Sparrow Hospital and Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital have created the joint venture Mary Free Bed at Sparrow, which will provide advanced inpatient rehabilitation care for patients in mid-Michigan. The rehabilitation unit at Sparrow will expand to 40 private patient rooms and two therapy gymnasiums to be built during the next 18 to 24 months.

HUMAN SERVICES

Porter Hills announced the additions of Christine Langlois and Mimi Hanrahan-Semeyn as hospital liaisons to coordinate services for its residents and build relationships with hospital referral sources.

Clark Hill attorney William B. Dunn has been appointed chair of the Committee on Professional Responsibility for the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.

The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids announced the addition of Terri Burgess-Harmon, association fitness program and services director. She will provide leadership to group fitness, personal training and massage and the launch of Les Mills programming.

Mary Moore has joined Catholic Charities West Michigan as director of quality and compliance. Moore is responsible for performance quality improvement activities, accreditation and service standards, licensure, and compliance with federal, state, insurance and other third-party agencies.
