Ad industry names ADDY winners
More than 400 members of the region’s creative community and their clients spent an evening celebrating advertising winners at the ADDY Awards.
The 2014 awards ceremony last night was held at the Grand Rapids Art Museum and sponsored by the American Advertising Federation of West Michigan.
West Michigan professionals earned 31 Gold and 29 Silver ADDY Awards.
Winners from Kendall College of Art and Design and Ferris State University also took home 6 Gold and 8 Silver ADDY Awards in the student category.
Gregg Palazzolo, CEO and creative director of Palazzolo Brand Design, was recognized by AAF West Michigan as its 2014 Silver Medal Award winner.
The Silver Medal is the federation’s highest honor. It is awarded by local AAF chapters to professionals who have made outstanding contributions to the advertising and marketing industry and been active in furthering creative excellence and "responsibility for social concern.”
Palazzolo’s “tremendous creative and community contributions have earned national recognition and are another example of the outstanding design and branding talent that is a significant business asset for West Michigan,” said AAF West Michigan President Nick Katsarelas.
Katsarelas noted that Palazzolo has helped small businesses like Rowsters Coffee, as well as larger businesses and organizations, including Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park and Trendway, to achieve a competitive business advantage through his award-winning brand development.
“Gregg is a gifted creative professional and a highly respected business leader,” Katsarelas said.
Palazzolo is a winner of more than 100 ADDY Awards at the district, regional and national levels and has served as a judge for more than a dozen ADDY competitions.
In 1980, Palazzolo founded Palazzolo Brand Design.
His logo and brand development programs include work for Steelcase, Haworth, Dowcraft, Turnstone, Trendway, MLive, IBM, Amway and Alticor.
