Kalamazoo airport names director
The Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport has named its new leader.
The airport’s Aeronautics Board of Trustees voted this month to appoint David Reid to the post, following a nationwide search.
Reid had been serving as the airport’s interim director since last fall.
Veteran of the region
Reid was selected for the position based on his strong aviation industry background and knowledge of the region and its impact on the travel market.
He began working at the airport in 1994 in the airfield operations department.
He has held the positions of airfield operations supervisor and assistant director of operations and maintenance at Kalamazoo, as well as airfield operations manager at the W.K. Kellogg Airport in Battle Creek.
“I am extremely grateful for this opportunity,” Reid said. “We have a talented and committed staff that is excited about the future of this airport and community.”
Reid is a member of the Association of Airport Executives and the Michigan Association of Airport Executives.
