Manufacturer wins Supplier of the Year award from GM
GM has presented a local manufacturer with its Supplier of the Year award.
ADAC Automotive in Grand Rapids was one of 68 suppliers to earn the title during the 22nd annual awards event in Detroit earlier this month.
General Motors honors less than 1 percent of its suppliers.
This is the fifth time ADAC Automotive has been recognized the honor.
Winners are recognized for delivering innovative technology, superior quality, timely crisis management and competitive costs.
A cross-functional team of GM executives from purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing and logistics selects the winners.
“Our suppliers play an important role in helping GM deliver compelling vehicles to our customers,” said Grace Lieblein, GM vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. “Supplier of the Year winners have outstanding track records for consistently meeting our business needs, while also supporting our cultural priorities.”
ADAC Automotive focuses on the production of exterior and interior door handles, exterior mirrors and other exterior trim components for the global automotive industry.
Founded in 1975, ADAC has five manufacturing locations in West Michigan, totaling more than 500,000 square feet and employing more than 1,200 people.
The company is a member of Vehicle Access Systems Technology, a global partnership with WITTE Automotive GmbH of Germany and STRATTEC Security Corporation of Milwaukee. The partnership helps ADAC expand its capabilities to support customers globally.
All of ADAC’s West Michigan manufacturing locations have been designated by the Michigan DEQ as Clean Corporate Citizens.
