A national shoe chain has expanded its retail footprint in the market by moving into a major shopping center.

Evansville, Ind.-based Shoe Carnival opened a 10,119-square-foot store this weekend in the Bucktown Shopping Center in Grandville, at 4490 Ivanrest Ave. SW.

The chain now operates five stores in West Michigan, according to its website.

The shoe store features a broad selection and is designed to offer customers’ “value on name-brand footwear and accessories for the entire family,” said Todd Beurman, senior vice president of marketing, Shoe Carnival.

The Grandville store is part of the latest national expansion by Shoe Carnival. The retailer opened 10 stores in eight different cities in March, including two in Detroit.

Shoe Carnival operates more than 376 stores across 32 states and Puerto Rico.
