Platinum-selling alternative musician stops downtown
A platinum-selling musician with “two turntables and a microphone” is taking the stage downtown this summer.
Beck will perform on July 19 at 8 p.m. at DeVos Performance Hall to support his new album, “Morning Phase.”
“Morning Phase” is Beck’s 12th album, and some critics have likened this one to his 2002 album, “Sea Change.”
Tickets go on sale Friday and can be bought at the DeVos Place and Van Andel Arena box offices, Ticketmaster ticket centers, ticketmaster.com and by phone, 1-800-745-3000.
Tickets are $39.50, $65 and $75.
Beck came to fame in the ‘90s during the alternative rock explosion, with albums such as his multi-platinum albums “Odelay” and “Guero.” His hit songs include “Loser,”“Devil’s Haircut”and “Where It’s At.”
Concert promoters said Beck’s career has been anything but linear, and he hasn’t stuck to one genre of music as his career has progressed.
