Three breweries are throwing a release party on Monday for a beer they brewed together.

Collaborators

New Holland Brewing Co., Big Lake Brewing and Our Brewing Co. have teamed up to make this American Craft Beer Week, which runs Monday through Sunday, special at the lakeshore.

The breweries are hosting a Shotgun Release Party to share their co-brewed beer — Our New Lake. The beer’s name includes a word from each of the breweries names.

The beer is an English pub ale.

“I’ve been in the brewing business for 18 years,” said Steve “Bert” Berthel, head pub brewer, New Holland Brewing. “The one thing that has remained true since the day I started is the collaborative and inquisitive spirit of those in the industry. This isn’t a competition. This is a lifestyle.”

Trevor Doublestein, co-owner, Our Brewing, said American Craft Beer Week is “a great time for us to get together with our fellow brewers and share what we love with the beer community.”

Nic Winsemius, co-owner, Big Lake Brewing, added, “Brewing together reminds us all why we got into this business — to create, to collaborate and to sit back with one another to share our stories over great beer.”

Release party

The party starts at New Holland Brewing at 3 p.m., heads to Our Brewing two doors down at 5 p.m. and moves to Big Lake Brewing at 7 p.m.

All three breweries will encourage their patrons to drink at the other establishments and will offer staff discounts to the employees of the other breweries.

Each brewery’s mug club members will receive the discounts from the other breweries as well.

The breweries will also give out passports to their customers. If customers stop by all three breweries during the week and get their passport stamped, they’ll be entered into a raffle.
