Fifth Third promotes pair locally

Fifth Third Bank has promoted Michael Stapleton and Scott VanderLeek to new leadership roles in its western Michigan region.

Stapleton is now dual manager of commercial banking in Grand Rapids and the Fifth Third Bank Western Michigan health care division. In his new role, he will be responsible for business growth and ensuring customer satisfaction. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Western Michigan University and is a member of the Finance Sub-Committee for Opera Grand Rapids. He joined Fifth Third Bank Western Michigan in 2011 as director of private banking. He had previously been with Comerica Bank in Detroit for about 26 years.

VanderLeek is manager of Fifth Third Bank Western Michigan’s private banking group. He will be responsible for developing the group’s business plan and ensuring customer satisfaction. VanderLeek has been with Fifth Third Bank for more than 20 years and currently serves as a member of the ArtPrize board of directors and the Ada Christian School Education Foundation.
