Moving franchise settles into headquarters
A national moving franchise is settling into its new headquarters.
Moving across town
The chain MyWay Mobile Storage was formerly housed in a building in Walker, where MyWay occupied about 12,500 square feet, at 2356 Turner Ave. NW, said Dale Plowman, the Grand Rapids franchisee of MyWay Mobile Storage.
The franchise needed to move, however, after the building’s owner, Grand Rapids-based Visser Brothers, wanted to expand another business in that location.
So Visser Brothers gave MyWay a space with about 19,500 square feet in another one of its newly built facilities, a 45,000 square foot, one-story building in Walker, at 3696 Northridge Drive NW, Plowman said.
MyWay shares the now fully occupied building with JMark Systems, which engineers and installs water treatment systems.
The space also houses the franchise’s Grand Rapids business, operated by Plowman.
“We probably could store I’d say 40 percent more boxes than we could before,” Plowman said. “I couldn’t be more pleased. It’s been a quality step up.”
The space also allows the national franchise to add more call center staff to manage more markets.
“We have space to add seven more people as we add markets . . . but we don’t want to expand that fast,” Plowman said. “We want to be able to manage the growth, so we’re able to service each market.”
Nationally, the MyWay Mobile Storage franchise serves locations in Denver, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Salt Lake City and Tyler, Texas.
