A brewery is sending its beer east.

Craft beer via Holland

New Holland Brewing Co. said today that it will distribute several beers and spirits in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. The move marks the company’s first distribution into the Northeast.

The brewery will also host a handful of events in the region as part of the rollout.

“We’re heading east to some fun launch events,” said Fred Bueltmann, vice president of sales and marketing, New Holland Brewing. “We’re looking forward to getting out there, meeting people and bringing some great flavors from the Midwest to our craft brothers and sisters in New England.”

The distributor will be L. Knife & Son, which operates several branches of craft beer distribution in New England.

Bueltmann called the distributor “an amazing partner.”

“After over a hundred years in their business, they have a tremendous amount of knowledge about the industry,” Bueltmann said. “But more than that, they are passionate about the products they distribute, and that’s the key to a great partnership.”

Beer and history

The events start on June 18 and will celebrate the history of beer in New England.

“New England and beer have a great history together,” said Brett VanderKamp, co-founder and president, New Holland Brewing. “Our forefathers were beer lovers. This is where they hung out over some pints and planned a revolution. We think craft beer pairs particularly well with historical references and social uprisings.”
