A host at a local Christian radio station was recently arrested Up North by officers from three agencies after an investigation.

Authorities said John Balyo, then with WCSG Radio, was arrested Friday at a Christian music festival in Gaylord on a charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

He was being transported to Battle Creek to face the charge today in a Calhoun County court.

The 35-year-old Balyo is accused of paying another man to arrange sex with minors.

Authorities searched his home in Caledonia. It's not known if he has a lawyer yet.

WCSG Radio is a Christian station affiliated with Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids.

General Manager Chris Lemke says the station is "shocked and deeply saddened" by Balyo's arrest in a letter posted Friday on the station's website.

Lemke also says that “John Balyo is no longer affiliated with WCSG Radio.”

He asks the WCSG Radio family to “pray for justice to prevail” and “for your prayers for John, his family and all those involved surrounding the allegations.”
