Pet food supplier names CEO
A former plant manager is taking over as the CEO of a wholesale distributor of pet food and bird seed.
John A. Van Den Bosch Company in Holland said yesterday that it has named Don Clark, COO, as its CEO and president, effective Aug. 1.
Clark replaces Dave Vanden Bosch, who has been with the company since 1997. Vanden Bosch will become the chairman of the board and the director of strategic planning.
“This is an exciting transition for us,” Vanden Bosch said. “Don’s experience and expertise have been invaluable this past year. His background in operations management has improved our business immensely, as we’ve worked to improve profits and manage costs.”
Clark said that Vanden Bosch has been “instrumental” in the company’s growth in the CEO role.
“Sales have more than doubled, and we now serve retailers throughout the Midwest,” Clark said. “I am eager to continue Dave’s good work.”
Clark has significant experience working as an operations and plant manager over the course of his career.
He spent more than 25 years at Steelcase, where he managed hundreds of employees as a plant manager and the director of internal logistics for North America.
Most recently, Clark was director of operations for Byrne Electrical Specialists.
He is a graduate of Western Michigan University.
John A. Van Den Bosch Company, founded in 1931, is a family owned business.
The distributor also makes Nature’s Window bird feed products.
