Authorities are looking for a person who caused five freight cars to derail in the region.

The person threw a switch at a train yard in Battle Creek, leading to about $100,000 in damage.

No injuries were reported following the derailment yesterday at 9 p.m.

TV stations WWMT and WOOD reported that rail workers saw a man run to a truck and drive off following the derailment.

Police said the full size, red pickup was hauling a trailer carrying mowers and lawn equipment.

Police are seeking tips from the public.
