Firm rolls out downtown concierge service

A real estate firm with a large downtown presence is getting into the concierge business.

CWD Real Estate investment, a developer and property management firm in Grand Rapids, said yesterday that its clients and their employees located in 14 of CWD’s downtown properties will be able to register for CWD Concierge, a virtual service available 24-7 and paid for by CWD, starting on Sept. 8.

CWD Concierge can be used for “time-killing” tasks like errand running, scheduling appointments and dinner reservations, as well as other tasks that reduce stress and increase productivity, said Sam Cummings, managing partner, CWD.

“Our clients live in a world where time is a precious commodity,” Cummings said.

Cummings added that employers will "find the service to be an added benefit when recruiting new employees.”

Services like CWD Concierge — which offers about 300 services — are typically offered in larger cities like Chicago, said Lisa Young, marketing manager, CWD.

“It’s a very competitive commercial real estate market right now,” said Scott Wierda, managing partner, CWD. “When our current or prospective customers are deciding where to locate their office, the building amenities can be an important factor. We hope the concierge program will be another incentive to choose CWD.”

As part of the rollout, the firm developed a series of videos of its partners — Cummings, Wierda and Dan DeVos — performing concierge-type tasks for members of the community.
