Founders Brewing Co. is releasing its next experimental beer just in time for the winter holiday season.

The 11th beer in its Backstage Series line will be a chocolate-raspberry stout called Big Lushious.

The Grand Rapids brewery said this week that the 7.8-percent ABV beer is full of roasted malt, dark chocolate, tart raspberry and subtle burnt coffee grounds.

The beer will be available across Founders' distribution footprint on Dec. 1, in 750 ml bottles for $16.99.

Big Lushious will finish the 2014 installments of the Backstage Series, which is meant to push craft brewing boundaries through experimentation.

“We thought Big Lushious would make a great release for the holidays,” said Dave Engbers, co-founder and VP of brand and education, Founders Brewing Co. “It’s a luxurious beer for us. It’s meant for bringing to parties and is perfect for sharing with friends and family after a feast.”
