West Michigan Tourist Association names director
A regional tourism nonprofit has hired a new director of image and branding.
Sarah Koupal has been hired by the Grand Rapids-based West Michigan Tourist Association, or WMTA, to fill the role.
Koupal will be in charge of the association’s design efforts and also assist with marketing.
Koupal will handle all design requests, including annual publications, sales materials and online advertising, as well as assist with member relations, social media marketing, website content and more.
She will be working alongside Courtney Sheffer, the association's director of marketing.
"The WMTA has some great design channels already in place, and I’m excited to expand upon our digital marketing efforts and reach out to our community in new and innovative ways to get the message of our members out,” Koupal said.
Koupal is new to Grand Rapids, having re-located here in 2013.
She said she likes the diversity of the West Michigan landscape and is regularly finding new places to visit and things to do in the region.
The West Michigan Tourist Association works to promote the entire west side of the state, from Mackinac Island all the way down to the state line.
The organization, founded in 1917, promotes the best things to do, places to stay and treasures to discover in West Michigan.
The association’s membership is made up of nearly 700 tourism operators.
