A Traverse City marketing firm is making downtown Grand Rapids its second home.

Flight Path Creative has opened an office, at 25 Ionia Ave. SW, which is also the home of HopCat.

Client base

The 11-year-old-firm was founded by Aaron Swanker and Dan Smith in Traverse City and has grown to just over a dozen employees.

Swanker said the firm has several clients in the Grand Rapids and Holland area, which prompted its decision to locate its second office here.

“We have several Grand Rapids and Holland-based clients that we knew were going to continue to grow, and we wanted to service them a little better and attract new clients,” Swanker said. “Traverse City is a great community, but it’s a little smaller, and we continue to pick up clients out of Grand Rapids, so it’s a natural fit to open a physical location there.”

Services

Flight Path Creative works with clients in several industries, providing integrated marketing services, such as advertising, branding, design and copywriting.

Swanker said one of the things that sets the firm apart is its long history of providing digital media services.

“We’ve always been heavily focused on digital media from day one,” Swanker said. “We find that a lot of firms are adding those services, and we started with those services.”

The space

Swanker said the Grand Rapids office is similar in style to the firm's Traverse City space, offering a loft-style feel in the heart of downtown.

“It was neat that we were able to find something similar,” Swanker said.

If all goes as planned, the firm will work to add Grand Rapids staff members.

Swanker added that Flight Path Creative’s lease agreement includes an opportunity to move into a larger space in the building as needed.
