The first wave of orders at the inaugural Lakeshore Restaurant Week will be placed this Friday.

The event, which runs through Nov. 16, will promote the variety and quality of local fare at participating restaurants in the Muskegon area.

Lakeshore Restaurant Week is being produced by the five Cumulus Muskegon radio stations — in collaboration with the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Muskegon Now and the Muskegon County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Rich Berry, market manager for the Cumulus Muskegon radio stations, said the idea is to create a fun environment for food lovers, promote the area’s restaurants and benefit customers.

“We have a very nice representation of restaurants that are participating,” Berry said. “There are plenty of places that people will love, once they discover them.”

On the menu

The 10-day event is designed to showcase the Lakeshore area as a dining destination, with 15 restaurants offering discounts and specials to new and existing customers: C.F. Prime Chophouse & Wine Bar; Holiday Inn Third Street Grille; Handsome Hobo Pizzeria; Pints & Quarts Bar and Grill; Dog House Saloon; Mia & Grace; Northside Pub; Fatty Lumpkins Sandwich Shack; Glenside Pub; Verdoni’s; and Port City Tavern and more.

The restaurants will discount a range of menu items: petite filets, jambalaya, pizza, top sirloin, lamb burger, wild mushroom stuffed ravioli and apple crostada with caramel and vanilla bean ice cream.

Although the event doesn't require tickets, the organizers recommend people make dining reservations.
