A brewery is expanding next door to give its customers more room to taste its products and shop for branded gear.

New Holland Brewing said today that it will open a merchandise store and tasting room, called Sidecar, on Dec. 8 in the retail space next to its 8th Street taproom in Downtown Holland, at 72 E. 8th St.

Merchandise will be available when the store opens, and the tasting room section will be ready later in the month.

The tasting room section will sell beer and spirit samples, flights and beer by the glass, as well as a variety of beer and spirits to go.

With 1,600 square feet, Sidecar will house New Holland’s full line of merchandise and items from the BarrelWorks Project.

“This is a great opportunity for us to move our merchandise to an adjacent space where people can browse without feeling crowded,” said Dave White, VP of retail operations, New Holland Brewing. “It’s a great place for customers to hang out and grab a drink if they’re waiting for a table at the pub.”
