A health care system has released the most-popular names parents chose for their newborns at one of its local hospitals this year.

Spectrum Health said last week that its annual ranking of top baby names is based on year-end data compiled by its Birth Records department at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Spectrum said that Butterworth delivers more babies than any other hospital in Michigan: it delivered more than 3,200 girls and more than 3,400 boys during 2014, with total births of 6,777 as of Dec. 26.

Several of the most-popular girl names this year — Olivia, Emma, Ava and Charlotte — also ranked as top names last year.

One of the most-popular boy names, Liam, also ranked as a top name last year.
