Dealership moves on 28th Street
A car dealer didn’t travel far to relocate one of its franchises on 28th Street.
Fox Motors said yesterday that it has moved its Fox Subaru dealership in Grand Rapids from 6025 28 St. SE into a 25,000-square-foot space at 6045 28th St. SE.
Fox Subaru had previously been housed with Audi and Porsche as part of Delta Imports, which is set to undergo remodeling this spring.
The move is expected to add about 17 jobs this year.
Fox Subaru will sell various models by the automaker: Impreza, WRX, BRZ, Legacy, Outback, Forester and XV Crosstrek, which includes a hybrid model.
“Subaru has always had a niche product, but they have been an emerging player in the automotive industry over the past few years with,” said Diane Maher, president, Fox Motors, citing the automaker’s “all-wheel drive system and an intensely loyal customer base.”
Fox Motors sells about 43 brands at 25 locations nationally.
Concept Design in Grand Rapids did the design work on the space.
Triangle Associates in Grand Rapids did the construction work.
The space features several elements: a showroom; service area; express lanes for car maintenance services like oil changes and tire rotations; a full-service car wash and detail center; LED lighting; and Hormann high-speed service doors.
“We’ve always dreamed of having our Subaru franchise in a separate facility to showcase the brand and lifestyle," Maher said. "We are excited to finally see it become a reality."
“The new facility brings the Subaru character and charm with a modern feel to a dealership atmosphere where customers can enjoy the same amenities expected and some extra perks.”
