The lakeshore is embracing the cold this weekend by bringing more than 20 brewers to town.

BRRRewfest will be held in Ludington this Saturday, from 1-6 p.m., at North James Street Plaza and feature a day of beer and music.

The success of the nationally recognized Mitten Bar and the summer’s Suds on the Shore inspired the city to start the winter celebration.

Tickets to the event are $25 in advance online and $30 at the door, which includes a tasting glass and six drink tokens.

A portion of the sales will benefit Friends of the Ludington State Park.

“This craft beer event is a perfect way for people to get out, shake off the winter doldrums and share an afternoon together enjoying some of Michigan’s finest craft brews and live musicians,” said Brandy Henderson, who's managing the event on behalf of the Ludington Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We encourage everyone to bundle up, head downtown and have a great time.”
