The original myth-busting stars of one of Discovery Channel’s oldest and most-popular shows are bringing their act to town.

Live stage show

The “MythBusters” national tour is coming to the region in April, and tickets go on sale this Friday.

The live stage show “MythBusters: Jamie & Adam Unleashed!” — featuring “MythBusters” stars Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman — will stop in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo.

“MythBusters: Jamie & Adam Unleashed!” will be an “unexpected evening of on-stage experiments, audience participation, rocking video and behind-the-scenes stories,” according to the tour website.

“Fans will join Jamie and Adam on stage and assist in their mind twisting and not-always-orthodox approach to science.”

The performances will be held in Grand Rapids on April 16 at 7:30 p.m. at DeVos Performance Hall and in Kalamazoo on April 17 at 8 p.m. at the James W. Miller Auditorium.

The educational, family friendly and Emmy-nominated TV series features Savage and Hyneman showcasing their experiments and adventures attempting to confirm or bust well-known myths, legends and events in Hollywood films.

MythBusters,” which premiered in January 2003, started its new season on the Discovery Channel on Jan. 10.

The show is broadcast in a number of countries and has spun off a traveling museum, “MythBusters: the Explosive Exhibit.”
