A Xerox subsidiary is expanding its statewide presence by opening an office on the east side of the state.

Michigan Office Solutions in Grand Rapids, or MOS, has opened a 4,374-square-foot space in Detroit, at 1001 Woodward Ave., according to Detroit-based Bedrock Real Estate Services yesterday.

Bedrock Real Estate Services owns and manages by the 23-story building.

Detroit presence

MOS has moved more than 24 of its full-time team members into the space.

MOS’s space can accommodate a growing staff and includes a technology showcase area.

“We are thrilled to be a part of Detroit’s remarkable resurgence, honored and excited to contribute to the downtown movement,” said Ralph Slider, president, MOS.

“Our new downtown Detroit office will not only positively contribute to the dynamic transformation of Detroit, it will allow us to service the needs of our current customers.”

For instance, MOS was named the official print service partner of the Detroit Red Wings last year.

MOS is celebrating its Detroit location with its first-annual Make My Nonprofit Run Better contest.

MOS plans to give away more than $50,000 worth of office equipment.

The deadline to register for the contest is this Friday.

Downtown “opportunity”

Jim Ketai, CEO and managing partner at Bedrock Real Estate Services, said that MOS is the “latest in a flood of businesses choosing to expand and grow in the nation’s most exciting and opportunity-filled urban corridor."

Ketai added that MOS team members will “love” working near Campus Martius Park and being surrounded by restaurants, retail and “downtown Detroit’s technology and entrepreneurial spirit.”
