A growing residential real estate firm has made a strategic move to join a national franchise with a strong “lead network.”

For the last five years, Grandville-based Platinum Group Realty, co-owned by Craig Van Assen and his son, Jason, has been with the national Realty Executives franchise.

The firm said this month that it has left Realty Executives and joined the national Weichert, Realtors franchise, operating now as Weichert, Realtors Platinum Group, at 3061 Macatawa Dr. SW.

The firm is comprised of a “broad mix” of about 30 realtors. It’s looking to add more realtors this year.

“When looking to partner with a national firm, we found that Weichert was vastly different from the rest,” Craig Van Assen said.

He said that Weichert, Realtors is “well respected in the industry.”

Van Assen said that Platinum Group wanted to join Weichert, because the firm wanted “a better presence on the Internet,” “some leads for our company” and “some relocation business.”

He added that Weichert, Realtors offers Platinum Group a “multitude of systems, tools and a lead network that is second to none, all of which will give our agents more support to serve our clients even better.”

“We look forward to a bright future with them,” Van Assen said.

Weichert Real Estate Affiliates President Martin Rueter said that Platinum Group is “highly regarded in the area” and is “rooted in the region it serves.”
