State shuts down in-home day care after death
The state has shut down an in-home day care center, following the death of an infant who'd recently been cared for there.
Police said they received a call on Feb. 19 about a medical emergency at the Grand Rapids home of 3-month-old Cooper Fales, and the baby was pronounced dead.
WOOD TV said Cooper already was in a car safety seat with a blanket over the top for warmth when his father picked him up at the day care center in nearby Kentwood.
Investigators are working to determine where and how the child died.
The state said it found violations at the day care, but didn't disclose details.
