A former Bob Evans building isn’t going to be vacant for much longer.

The third Anna’s House restaurant is moving into the building in Grandville near RiverTown Crossings, at 3766 Potomac Circle SW, said Josh Beckett, owner, Anna’s House.

The restaurant is planning for a May 1 opening.

Anna’s House serves breakfast and lunch and operates a pair of restaurants in Grand Rapids.

Anna’s House Grandville will be looking to hire about 60-70 employees.

The space

Beckett said he’s planning to spend about $400,000 renovating the roughly 5,400-square-foot building, which has been vacant for about six years.

Tylor Devereaux is serving as designer of the space.

Beckett’s family will be doing construction.

Beckett said Anna’s House has been in demand in the Grandville area for some time.

“We got a great reception from the folks at the Grandville Chamber of Commerce,” said Melissa Atkinson, general manager, Anna’s House Grand Rapids on Plainfield Avenue.

“They’d been asking us to put something closer to that side of town. I just went out there today. It’s going to be so awesome.”

Beckett added that he’s excited to be by RiverTown Crossings and have a locally owned restaurant surrounded by so many chains.

Next locations

Beckett’s work isn’t through yet, and he's planning to keep expanding the footprint of Anna's House.

“We’re looking for a fourth, the right spot, maybe next year. . . . I’m looking at buildings now,” he said. “A lot of these old buildings that no one wants to put any money in, it works out good for us.”
