A store that sells “surf-inspired lifestyle apparel” for women and men is planning to open in the downtown of a Grand Rapids suburb.

Coastal Cruisin’ Threads has moved into a roughly 2,400-square-foot-space on the first floor of a building in East Grand Rapids’ Gaslight Village, at 2249 Wealthy St. SE, according to a representative at the City of East Grand Rapids.

The building is owned by CWD Real Estate Investment in Grand Rapids and most recently housed Hot Mama, now called Evereve, which moved to Breton Village in Grand Rapids.

The store is planning to open some time this month, according to its Facebook page.

The store will also sell accessories, such as standup paddleboards and longboards, as well as host “fun community events.”

“It’s a new store,” said Scott Wierda, principal and manager partner, CWD. “We’re putting another fashion merchandiser back in there. It’s local, and we are focused on bringing a good local store into Grand Rapids.”

A representative of the store couldn’t be reached for comment Tuesday afternoon.
