IT firm names virtual CIO
An IT firm has named the leader who will act as a virtual chief information officer to its client base.
Grandville-based Trivalent Group, which operates offices in Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and Mt. Pleasant, said this month that it has named Peter Young to the “VCIO” role.
Young will be part of Trivalent’s Managed Services practice, designed to guide clients with aligning technology with business needs.
“Businesses today more than ever need strategic technology oversights, but many don't have the means for a full-time CIO,” said Larry Andrus, CEO, Trivalent Group.
Andrus added that the appointment of Young “ensures our clients’ projects and plans stay on track.”
Mark Hepinstall, director of Managed Services for Trivalent Group, said that VCIOs help organizations implement and manage “the right technology” to “ensure the most cost-effective and efficient operation possible.”
Young recently served as an independent contractor for “large accounts.”
Previously, he served a “long tenure” as the director of information technology at Rockford Public Schools.
He graduated from Northern Michigan University.
