Association names Best and Brightest Companies to Work For
More than 100 West Michigan organizations are being recognized this year for their best practices in human resources.
The Michigan Business & Professional Association in Warren, or MBPA, named today the winners of the 2015 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For awards competition for West Michigan.
This year, the competition includes an inaugural category for organizations with 50 or less employees.
The Best and Brightest Companies to Work For will be honored by the MBPA on May 7 in Grand Rapids at the JW Marriott, from 7:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
The annual symposium features an awards reception for winning companies, networking and presentations from a number of people: Meredith Bronk, president of Open Systems Technologies; Mark Sellers, founder and owner of BarFly Ventures; Bing Goei, director for the state of Michigan Office for New Americans; Robert Hughes, president at Advantage Benefits Group; and Jennifer Kluge, president of MBPA.
“These companies have created impressive organizational value and business results through their policies and best practices in human resource management,” Kluge said. “This award has become a designation sought after by hundreds of West Michigan area companies and is a powerful recruitment tool in the drive to attract and retain exceptional employees.”
The annual awards competition recognizes organizations in the region delivering exceptional human resource practices and a commitment to employee enrichment.
Upon nomination, the Best and Brightest Companies to Work For are benchmarked against other participants in the region and evaluated on a series of criteria by the Illinois Institute of Technology.
All participating companies receive a complimentary assessment report based on the key measures examined: communication, work-life balance, employee education, diversity, recognition and retention.
The region’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For will also compete for 12 elite awards and a Best of the Best Overall award, which will be presented during the annual symposium in Grand Rapids.
