Children's Leukemia Foundation produces CRUSH

Local chefs are coming together this weekend to raise money for the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan.

CRUSH Grand Rapids will feature seven chefs, several Michigan vineyards and New Holland Brewing Co. beer Saturday at Reserve Wine & Food.

Prices for the event begin at $150, with reservations available online.

The event is the third annual in Grand Rapids. A similar event has been held in Birmingham since 2008.

Setup

A private patron reception will run from 6:30-7 p.m. General admission with the food and beverage stations will run from 7-9 p.m.

All stations will pair food with a wine and beer, while three stations will pair food with New Holland Spirits and three will pair with Remy Cointreau USA spirits.

Beverage experts and chefs will discuss the pairings.

The foundation

Founded in 1952, the Troy-based Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan helps provide disease and treatment education, financial assistance and emotional support to adults and children affected by leukemia.

According to the organization, 82 cents from every dollar donated goes to its patient and family programs.
