A maker of space-planning software has become a technology company that never sleeps.

Global user base

The software made by Linköping, Sweden-based Configura — which has an office in Grand Rapids — is used by designers, manufacturers and dealers in the contract furniture, kitchen and bath, material handling and industrial machinery industries.

The company said earlier this year that it is now offering 24-hour global live-chat support Monday through Friday for CET Designer, its core space-planning software.

Configura also operates offices in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Göteborg, Sweden.

The company's software products are used by more than 10,000 people globally.

“Our users are increasing in every time zone. To better serve them wherever they are in the world, we’ve expanded our support and training team capabilities and capacity,” said Tracy Lanning, VP of global customer experience, Configura.

“Helping users to adopt a new solution and advance in proficiency goes hand in hand with the software solution. In fact, we consider support to be an integral part of the solution. With 24-hour support, we serve our users whenever and wherever they happen to be working.”

The support system

Configura will offer live-chat support through team members with backgrounds in design, furniture and space-planning tech.

Support is included with each CET Designer license.

The support system means that all Configura locations will all expand, but particularly its Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia location, which recently added two support team members.

Lanning added that the expansion is important for the growth of the company.

“Providing real people who really know the office furniture industry and can offer hands-on technical and design support is a point of quality,” Lanning said.
