Moviegoers are encouraged to arrive early and bring blankets, chairs, beer, wine and snacks. There will be local vendors on site as well.

Impact on downtown

Movies in the Park began in 2013 and has become a “signature event” downtown, according to DGRI.

The organization said yesterday that the 2014 movie series attracted about 19,000 people and stimulated an estimated $440,000 in consumer spending.

“Overall, DGRI leveraged approximately $13 in economic return to downtown and participating businesses for every $1 invested to produce the events,” the organization said.
