Thanks to a significant expansion, an auto supplier is hosting a job fair tomorrow.

LG Chem Michigan said today that it will host its second job fair at 1 LG Way in Holland from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in an effort to double its workforce by the end of this year.

LG Chem Michigan, the Holland-based subsidiary of Seoul, South Korea-based LG Chem, announced its growth plans last month.

The company has 150 employees and expects to double that number this year.

The first job fair saw more than 250 people attend its facilities.

LG Chem Michigan is hiring for several positions: technical operators, maintenance positions, engineer positions, production supervisors and senior technical operators.

The jobs are spread across a variety of departments, including electrical, mechanical, production, facilities, QA and shipping and receiving.

Interested candidates are asked to bring resume copies, but also can pre-apply at lgchemjobs.com.

Candidates should plan to meet with members of the LG Chem staff to learn more about the company.

“We’re in a good situation,” said Jeremy Hagemeyer, human resources manger, LG Chem Michigan, in April. “So we need more people.”

The company’s Holland plant makes lithium-ion polymer batteries for electric cars for companies such as GM, Ford, Renault, Hyundai/Kia, Volvo, Audi and Daimler.

Increased volume and a new customer necessitate the need for new employees.
