Health system building integrated care center
Construction has begun on a new 10,000-square-foot integrated care campus that will be located in Berlin Township.
Spectrum Health said the campus, which is the health system’s third integrated care campus in the region, will focus on providing primary care to patients in the area as well as outpatient services.
The project cost was not provided.
The campus will be located at 2770 South State Road in Ionia.
It is expected to be open by spring of 2016.
HKS Inc. designed the facility, which is being constructed by Wolverine Building Group.
“We are looking forward to being able to bring more opportunities for high quality, high value, integrated care to patients in this community,” said Seth Wolk, MD, president of Spectrum Health Medical Group.
He said rather than having to travel to multiple offices, an integrated care facility allows patients to receive “care under one roof.”
“This is a model of care that has been much appreciated by our patients and we are excited to be able to offer it in Ionia,” he said.
Spectrum does not know yet how many physicians will be housed at the location or which services will be located there.
“Our integrated care is our term for the model of care we provide that connects all our patients to the physicians and services in our system that they may require, not just at an individual location,” said Bruce Rossman, media relations consultantfor Spectrum.
Spectrum opened its first integrated care office in 2012, at 588 E. Lakewood Blvd., in Holland, and its second was opened just over a year ago at 2750 East Beltline Ave. NE, in Grand Rapids.
