A firm that provides consulting services and equipment to medical practices has been acquired by an East Lansing company.

Medical Advantage Group said today that it has acquired Health Care Management in Grand Rapids.

Health Care Management provides IT-related hardware and support, electronic health records, telecommuting solutions, staffing, office equipment and HIPAA security compliance to optimize practice operations.

Medical Advantage Group is a consulting firm that has nearly 20 years of experience building and serving health care partnerships.

The company helps about 2,000 physicians “simplify” the delivery of health care.

It serves health systems, independent physician associations, physician organizations, physician hospital organizations, accountable care organizations and physician practices.

“This business model will blend Medical Advantage Group and Health Care Management into a full-service provider of management services to health care professionals,” said Paul MacLellan, CEO, Medical Advantage Group. “We have broadened the scope of solutions that we offer.”
