A West Michigan-based bank is growing its presence in a Grand Rapids suburb.

United Bank recently purchased the former Georgetown Eye Associates office at 1884 Baldwin St. in Jenison. The sale price was $289,000.

The bank will renovate the 4,040-square-foot building for use as a branch office. Jack DeBruin of Progressive AE is the architect.

The optometry office will open a new office in February 2016.

Kurt Kunst of NAI Wisinski of West Michigan represented United Bank, while Al Rietberg of Rietberg Companies represented the seller.

The new branch will be United’s westernmost location in the region. United currently has offices in Byron Center, Caledonia, Cascade, Dorr, East Grand Rapids, southeast Grand Rapids, Hopkins, Rockford and Wayland.
