An experienced business leader with a financial background is joining the team at a West Michigan staffing solutions company.

Workbox Staffing, a Grand Rapids-based temporary employment agency, has named Ron Groen to serve as its new chief financial officer and general manager after a regional search and selection process.

The role

Groen officially began serving in the new role on Sept. 8 and will manage facilities and oversee the financial reporting of the organization.

“I was very excited to become part of a rapidly growing and progressive company,” said Groen in reference to his recent appointment. “The growth plan and future look very promising and I consider myself fortunate to be part of the plan at Workbox.”

Background

Groen has more than 25 years of experience in financial planning, operational strategic planning, budgetary forecasting and organizational structure development.

Prior to joining Workbox Staffing, Groen served as vice president of administration at Britten Décor Inc., where he oversaw the development and maintenance of a number of organizational procedures.

“I started my career in public accounting and saw a great deal of diverse business. I have been able to use that to my advantage in my career,” said Groen. “I was also the leader of an organization for about 10 years, allowing me to gain substantial leadership qualities and experience.”

He has also served as president and CEO at local printer Jarob Inc., principal of Rehmann, and as executive board member of the Calvin Christian School Association.

The company

Workbox Staffing provides temporary staffing solutions and specializes in hiring for manufacturing, industrial work and warehouse operation positions. The agency provides a number of services for both job seekers and employers, including: direct and temporary to hire; short-term, long-term, and contract workers; payroll plans; background checks; resume workshops; and workplace skills proficiency tests.
