A private practice of OB-GYN specialists has teamed up with a well-known regional medical group.

Spectrum Health, a Grand Rapids-based health system, announced earlier this month that West Michigan Obstetricians and Gynecologists PC, a West Michigan-based private practice of OB-GYN specialists, officially joined the Spectrum Health Medical Group.

The partnership

West Michigan Obstetricians and Gynecologists officially joined Spectrum Health Medical Group as of Sept. 1, and will continue to see patients in its locations in Grandville at 4249 Parkway Place and in Grand Rapids at 221 Michigan St. NE.

Dr. Seth Wolk, president of Spectrum Health Medical Group and chief medical officer at Spectrum Health, said the organization is excited to have the experience and dedicated medical team from West Michigan Obstetricians and Gynecologists join the team.

“Together, we become one of the most experienced and largest women’s health specialty programs in Michigan,” said Wolk.

Dr. Andrew J. Vanslooten, a senior partner at West Michigan Obstetricians and Gynecologists, said it is a great opportunity to provide patients with an expanded and experienced team of women’s health specialists.

“We look forward to continuing to provide patient-centered care while improving access to health care for women in our community as part of the Spectrum Health Medical Group,” said Vanslooten.

Patients currently seeing specialists at West Michigan Obstetricians and Gynecologists are anticipated to receive care without interruption as the group integrates with Spectrum Health, and both office locations are accepting new patients.

The practice

West Michigan Obstetricians and Gynecologists is comprised of approximately a dozen OB-GYN physicians, with one maternal fetal medicine specialist and three advanced practice providers, according to a press release. The practice provides gynecological, obstetrical and emergency care that includes physicals, ultrasounds, surgery, family planning, prenatal diagnostics, menopause management and laboratory services.

The group of specialists provides care for nearly 16,000 women between its two office locations and performs approximately 1,450 deliveries each year.
