Some interesting items are up for auction following the sale of a downtown Grand Rapids strip club.

Showgirl Galleria, formerly located at 234 Market Ave. SW, Grand Rapids, is liquidating its remaining assets through an online auction with Orbitbid.com.

According to city records, the property was transferred on June 30 for $5 million from ML James LLC to Grand Rapids Market Avenue Place.

“The history of this property makes it more of a public interest story,” said Scott Miedema, COO of Orbitbid.com. “This is a great opportunity for businesses or individuals to buy for their businesses, basements, man caves or whatever they wish.”

The 383-item auction will have a preview from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 14, and the auction itself will run online from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The auction features poles, kitchen and bar equipment, tables, chairs, bar stools, couches, sound and video equipment, mannequins, art, and neon signs, including the full-size “Showgirl Galleria” signs.
