A brewery’s distribution now stretches coast to coast.

Founders Brewing Co. in Grand Rapids said today that it will begin distributing its beer to northern California and Nevada beginning next month.

The markets will receive year-round and seasonal beers in the applicable bottles, cans and kegs. Some special releases will also be available.

Founders beer will now be found in 37 states and the District of Columbia. Eleven states have limited distribution.

“We’re thrilled to continue to expand our distribution in the west, where there is such appreciation for craft beer,” Founders CEO Mike Stevens said. “Northern California and Nevada are hubs for beer enthusiasts.”

Founders will use nine distributors in the northern California market: Matagrano, Markstein Beverage Co., Delta Sierra Beverage, Modesto, Eagle Distributing Co., V. Santoni, DelReka Distributing, Sequoia Beverage Co., Elyxir Distirbuting and Foothills Distributing.

In Nevada, the company will use five distributors: Morrey Distributing, Capital Beverages, Blach Distributing, Valley Distributors and Nevada Beverage Co.

Relative demand

Stevens told the Business Journal earlier this year he would be surprised if the California demand equals demand in the Grand Rapids market.
