The marketing arm of an engineering firm has new muscle.

FTCH in Grand Rapids, a firm that offers civil engineering, architectural, environmental and construction management services, said this month that it has named Jenny Waugh its marketing operations director.

Waugh will direct the marketing and business development efforts of the roughly 400-person firm, which has seven offices and plans to add two to three more next year, according to Waugh.

She has been charged with strategically growing the firm and positioning it as an “industry leader, not just here in Michigan, but across the country,” Waugh said.

Waugh added that the FTCH’s growth has been “exponential in the last few months,” saying the firm has added 46 people so far this year, including various types of engineers, geologists, architects and GIS technicians.

FTCH’s client base ranges from cities and townships to MDOT, University of Michigan and AMC Theatres.

Waugh background

Most recently, Waugh spent the last decade as director of marketing for Rockford Construction in Grand Rapids.

Previously, she served as marketing manager at Business Strategy for about five years and worked at Manpower of Kent County and Spectrum Health.

Waugh is “heavily involved” with several West Michigan organizations: she chairs the construction awards committee for Associated Builders and Contractors; chairs the WomenBuild Committee; is VP of the board for Community Media Center; holds a board seat with Wolverine Worldwide Family YMCA; sits on the board for Habitat for Humanity of Kent County; is a planning commissioner for Algoma Township; and acts as a loan manager for capital campaigns for nonprofit organizations.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Michigan State University.
