A $16-million apartment complex in Grand Rapids is opening up leasing and hosting an open house this month.
616 Lofts on Michigan by Grand Rapids-based 616 Development will host a pre-leasing open house on Oct. 23 from 3-6 p.m. and Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Applications and deposits for prospective tenants will be accepted at the event at the complex, at 740 Michigan Ave. NE, at the corner of Eastern Avenue NE.
People can RSVP at a Facebook event page. The first 50 attendees will be given gift bags.
“Our open house will offer exclusive access into our newest development, allowing potential residents to experience the new and historic amenities the Midtown neighborhood has to offer,” said Monica Steimle, director of development, 616 Development.

Construction on the 68,000-square-foot mixed-used building began last September and should be completed next January.
The four-story building has 9,700 square feet of retail on the first floor. The retail tenant should be announced soon.
The rest of the building has 54 apartments, in one- and two-bedroom layouts.
Units range from 678 square feet to 1,086 square feet. Some have balconies. Apartments include a washer and dryer, modern fixtures and stainless-steel appliances.
Rents at 616 Lofts on Michigan range from $1,350 to $2,325. Rent includes water, sewer, trash and recycling. Pets are welcome, with a fee. The application fee is $50 and an $800 security deposit.
The lofts have 95 parking spots, many below ground.
616 Lofts residents also receive a 616Pass, which grants them discounts at various local businesses.
Firms
Grand Rapids-based Integrated Architecture and First Companies in Grand Rapids are serving as the project’s designer and contractor.
